BIP - Biomethane Industrial Partnership

Freising - Germany.

Teaming up to achieve 35 bcm of sustainable biomethane by 2030

The German Biogas Association (GBA) participates in the Biomethane Industrial Partnership (BIP). GBA has recently joined the BIP and will also actively participate in two task forces out of five. BIP brings together EU policy makers, Member State representatives, companies active in the biomethane supply chain and other stakeholders. The overall goal is to support the achievement of the target of 35 billion cubic meters of annual production and use of sustainable biomethane by 2030 from the REPowerEU plan, and set the stage to further increase the potential by 2050.
"Germany is a pioneer in the field of biomethane production and now wants to enter the next step", said Sebastian Stolpp, Head of International Affairs at GBA. "The team from GBA is looking forward to contribute with their experience in the partnership".

The BIP was officially launched on 28 September, 2022 during the European Sustainable Energy Week. Membership in the partnership is free and open to all interested stakeholders who are aligned with the goals of the partnership. By joining the BIP, you can make valuable contributions and actively participate in and support the partnership.
